MOVIE NIGHTS

With Movie Nights we start a new activity that we hope will be usual from now on. 
A Movie Night is a film or short session in the evening, at the best hour for those who have finished their work day and doesn’t want to go to bed very late. 

The first session will be on February 18th (Wednesday), at Mostoles campus  of Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (Aula Magna 003 of building Aulario II, 7-9 pm). In this first session we will watch the first of three DVDs from Computer Animation Festival (Siggraph 2008), showing the most recent short movies produced.

SPEEDLAB 2009

From 2nd to 6th March we present the first edition of SIGMAD SpeedLab.
In a SpeedLab the teams compete for finding the best solution to a specific problem about computer graphics and animation. The first day the problem will be presented, and the last day the team who found the best solution will be awarded.

ANIMATION FESTIVAL 2009

For those who are in search of greater challenge we also present the Animation Festival, where the best animation short film presented before 15th June 2009 (date not confirmed) will be awarded. From 29th June we have a session with workshops, projection of the films, and awards.

VIDEO GROUP

The meetings of the SIGMAD Video Group are still going on, and the next days the main Topic will be DirectX 11, with the main focus in the new features like teselation technology and the new shader model.

SEMINARS 2008/2009

In the 2008/2009 academic course of “Máster Oficial en Informática Gráfica, Juegos y Realidad Virtual” from “Universidad Rey Juan Carlos”, there is an interesting season of seminars in the graphics area. The place is at “Campus de Móstoles” from “Universidad Rey Juan Carlos”.
SIGMAD members can assist to the seminars free of charge.
