CONCURSO DE CORTOS DE ANIMATION -- Mostoles, Spain July 1st, 2010

After a successful first event in 2009, the SIGMAD international Animation Festival returns in July 2010. It will take place at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Mostoles on the 1st of July and will be immediately followed by the ACM SIGGRAPH / Eurographics Symposium on Computer Animation (2nd-4th of July 2010).

Awards

We are pleased to announce the winners of the SIGMAD Animation Festival 2010 ! We must say the choice has been difficult and we would like to thank everyone for participating. The winners in each category are:
Professional Category
1st Prize goes to Christophe Peladan for The Wind of The Cypress Hill
2nd Prize goes to Jane Wu & Keith Roberts for Book Girl & Cabinet Girl

Amateur Category
1st Prize goes to Susana Cerca for The Four Seasons
2nd Prize goes to Jorge Campillo Tomico for Aerobics Teddy Bear

Technical Category
1st Prize goes to Luiz Velho for Dance to the Music, Play to the Motion
2nd Prize goes to Javier Alcon Palazon, Juan Pedro Brito Mendez, Urbano Penin Gonzalez & Ricardo Suarez Mesa for Gifts of War

We are looking for short movies created by individuals (not by a company -- although individuals working in the movie industry are welcome to submit work done on their free time) involving the use of Computer Graphics related technologies. We encourage people to submit their work, especially students, so that it can be projected during a dedicated day.

New this year, we have created various categories that are more adapted to a wide range of participants:
- Short Animation Movie, Professional level
- Short Animation Movie, Amateur level
- Technical Video
- Game Demo
A description of each category can be found in the detailed Call For Animations. The best movie in each category will get a 200 Euros prize and an award ! The second best movie is each category will get a 50 Euros prize and an award. Selected videos for projection will get a certificate of acceptance.

Submission is open to everyone, free of charge.
